As far as we could go backwards, it is learned that Shri.Varkey Thottungal from Kuravalangadu migrated to Kavumbhagom, Tiruvalla between 1780 and 1800. He was married to Mariamma of Kalarickal family, Idinjillam(Tiruvalla). They were blessed with four sons. All of them were members of Tiruvalla Paliakkara Orthodox Church.
